Friends of the Coolidge Library

The Friends of the Coolidge Library is a non-profit organization that incorporated in 1982. The organization’s mission is to foster closer relations between the Coolidge Library and the citizens of Coolidge. Members meet quarterly to plan book sales and decide how the funds they raise will be used to help the library achieve its goals.

Thank you for thinking of the library when you donate your books. Please note that the library cannot accept the following: textbooks; encyclopedias; Reader's Digest abridged or condensed books; books with torn pages, missing covers, or items that are written in; or books that are grimy, musty, moldy, bug infested, or mildewed.

Friends’ funding comes primarily from donated books that are sold at the library and at book sales. Items are always available for sale during regular library hours. The Friends also hold Mini Book Sales throughout the year and an annual book sale in January. Thousands of books are available at special sale pricing during these events.

The Friends use the money raised from the sales to provide financial assistance to the library for successful Summer Learning Programs as well as other special library projects. Friends’ support provides Coolidge children, teens, and adults a Summer Learning Program rich with prizes, books, school supplies, and activities!

Friends’ members receive an extended borrowing period for their books of 28 days instead of the customary 14 day checkout. The Friends membership fees start at only $5/year. If you are interested in becoming a member, attend one of the meetings or call the library at 520-723-6030 for more information.

Friends of the Library meet the third Thursdays of January 18, April 18, and October 17 at 2:30 PM.

Friend's Mini Sales is scheduled for  May 30, 2024, with the Annual Book Sale scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2024, and Saturday, January 27, 2024.
