2026 Election Information


On Friday, February 6, 2026, Governor Hobbs signed House Bill 2022 which moved Arizona’s primary election date from August 4, 2026, to July 21, 2026. The bill went into effect immediately. ·      The City Clerk’s office, in cooperation with Pinal County is committed to conducting regular and special municipal elections in accordance with State Law.
 
·      The City Clerk for the City of Coolidge will aid in any election related questions or requests. Offices Up for Election in 2026: 
 
·      The City Council is a seven-member non-partisan body elected to serve and represent all citizens of the City of Coolidge. The Mayor serves a two year term and Council serve four-year terms and there are no term limits.
 
o   Jon Thompson - Mayor
o   Thomas Bagnall - Councilmember
o   Tatiana Murrieta – Councilmember
o   Adriana Saavedra - Councilmember
 
Election Dates
 
·      The City of Coolidge holds Council elections in the fall of even-numbered years. Other elections may be called on an as needed basis.
 
o   Primary Election Day July 21, 2026.
 
o   General Election Day November 3, 2026.
 
Important Dates 

February 21, 2026 First Day to File Nomination Papers for Primary Election.

March 23, 2026 Last Day to File Nomination Papers for Primary Election.

June 22, 2026 County Voter Registration Closes for Primary Election.

July 21, 2026 Primary Election Day – Last Day to Return Early Ballots.

October 5, 2026 County Voter Registration Closes for General Election.

November 3, 2026 General Election Day – Last Day to Return Early Ballots.
 

CANDIDATE PACKETS ARE NOW AVAILABLE. Packets may be obtained at City Hall, 130 W. Central Ave, Coolidge, Arizona, 85128, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Nomination papers may be filed with the City Clerk no earlier than February 21st, 2026 and no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 23rd, 2026. You can schedule an appointment with the Clerk’s Office at 520-723-5361. Ext. #6009 to review the packet.
